Process

This Report is divided into three parts. First, it delineates the scheme of the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022 and its interaction with other laws that currently govern the field. Secondly it assesses the constitutionality of the Act against Articles 14, 20(3) and 21 of the Constitution. It further also assesses issues arising from the Act, speaking to questions of science, regulation, and the administrative aspects of implementing such an Act.
